They have free skins again....which just means I have to pick my favorite one (an impossible task). Tis Izaya for now, and possibly girly Blue Exorcist later. Some updates and stuff! As you can see from the pictures, I was at our local Steampunk convention last weekend, AnomalyCon. I got to hang out with many of my favorite people, dress as Ventus/Roxas for our KH group in the costume contest, and buy lots of shit. So it was pretty fantastic. I don't know if you get notified when I submit stuff to scraps, but I uploaded some funny derpy pictures from our photoshoot to my scrapbook as well. GO LOOK AT THEM YOU WILL LAUGH.
I also watched the American finals for World Cosplay Summit, where my friends ~
Elrowiel and ~
Pan-Pan did a Sailor Moon skit in their GORGEOUS costumes. Our local team from Denver, Wild Garden Cosplay, took second place as Kefka and Terra with a really really good performance. And the winners, Cupcake Cosplay, were BEAUTIFUL, I will definitely be following their journey to the world finals in Japan this summer

Now I'm super inspired to make stuff, but I'm stuck in the dorms again so I won't be getting a chance to do much until May XD
I am still doing a few things though. I am in the depths of making a galaxy-themed ballgown for our school's fashion club, which will be ready for our spring show at the end of April. I got my hoop skirt finished, and most of the bodice, but there's still a lot of work to go! I should have pictures from the show, and possibly from the April photoshoot that's being planned (though we don't know where it will be yet). One of the options is the butterfly pavillion near my dorm, in which case I hope to get some good pictures of my Paradise Kiss outfit finally

Panda wants to go there to get Toothiana pictures too, so we may end up going there at some point either way. I will be wearing Parakiss to Anime Expo this summer as well, so if nothing else I can get my pictures there.
Aside from the fashion show, our next big cosplay event is Denver Comic Con in May. My current plans are Russia from Hetalia, Izaya Orihara with my roommate's Shizuo (thus the journal), and Jack Frost for our ROTG group. I'm also going to be making Elrond from the Hobbit to attend the renaissance festival, and I have a bunch of big plans for AX that are still somewhat up in the air (so more on that later). In the meantime, I finally got the three costumes I ordered from *
zimiel, who is in Australia. So that means in the future you'll be seeing Infinity Fai, the Sakura Artbook version of Fai, and Tsugaru Shizuo (though I think I'm using his costume for Tsubasa-related things, and for our Sakura Festival in June). I just have to fix them up and get my accessories ready!
School-wise I'm focusing on catching up on work, and not dying

I'm still working on my honors thesis proposal, and I'm figuring out stuff for study abroad next year. It's hard because the study abroad office doesn't really know what's going on so I REALLY don't know what's going on XD I was in Pennsylvania over spring break last week to visit my grandparents, and I got some fancy purple fabric in Amish Country for my Elrond costume. I also went EXTREME FABRIC SHOPPING and bought many many pounds of fabric for all of my planned costumes in the next year. And I got my ears double pierced!
That's about all the updating I have for now, I'm sure there will be more coming in the future as I get my costumes sorted out. HAPPY TUESDAY!
